When most people hear the word ‘metabolism,’ they assume the conversation is heading in the direction of exercise.
What if I told you that intense exercise could wreck an already damaged metabolism?!
Metabolism is actually a process your body uses to turn what I refer to as “raw building blocks” into something useful … energy.
Movement can definitely assist with this process but intense exercise USES energy.
If the energy tank is already low or (in some cases on fumes), there’s no excess energy to burn.
If it sounds stressful … IT IS!
And, when you’re stressed …
… let’s just say … No bueno! (Translation for those with ZERO knowledge of the Spanish language: NOT GOOD!)
So, what DOES help to restore a sluggish metabolism?
If you are doing “all the right things,” then it’s most likely that your internal filter is (possibly filterS are) CLOGGED.
Typically, that starts with the liver and, as toxins accumulate, extends to components of the lymphatic system.
The BIG question is … “What created the clog?”
The human body is designed to detoxify itself 24/7. So, it’s typically a build-up (over a L.O.N.G. period of time) of toxicity that the body isn’t designed to deal with.
A few questions that must be answered to fix a damaged metabolism …
- Is your filter clogged? Signs and symptoms provide clues.
- What type of toxicity has built up? Signs and symptoms provide clues.
- How can the toxicity be removed safely? This may require professional help … depending on the answer to the previous question.
Often, the toxicity is not easy to address. If it was easy, your body would have been able to remove it without much assistance.
Rather, your body has found places to store toxins … evidenced by your symptoms and taking a close look at your body.
This is what inspired me to create the MOLT Method™. The “T” in MOLT stands for Toxins. It’s the critical thing to ‘shed’ and often the most challenging.
