I’m excited that you are along for the ride. I’m writing to you from the Newark airport. We had a longer layover than I would have preferred, but … hey … it gave me time to share this message.
A few (quite a few) years ago, I became intrigued by St. Francis of Assisi. I would regularly encounter images, messages, and other remembrances of him. I have quite a collection of statues that remind me regularly of what is at stake.
If you study him a bit, you’ll find that he struggled to follow his passion. He was destined to spend his life working in the family business. He turned his back on what seemed like an easy “defined path” to follow his heart.
Inspiring. Right??!!
I am on my way to Paris … and then on to Spain … to walk the way of St. James. The Camino de Santiago is a pilgrimage that has been calling me for over 20 years.
There’s never a perfect time to take a sabbatical. You just have to make it happen. For me, now’s the time.
I’ve been sharing the benefits of spending time in “flow state.” I’m counting on 10 to 20 miles of walking … daily … to make the shift into this state of heightened creativity inevitable.
If you haven’t followed me on your favorite social channels, now is the time to do that. When it doesn’t interfere with the “flow,” I plan to share insights from the journey.
As St. Francis said, “Simple joys are … HOLY!”
Create holy moments intentionally.
