It’s July. 😎
Somehow, we’re halfway through the year. And that always makes me stop and ask the same question … what do I actually want for the next six months? 🤔
Not resolutions. Those have evolved. I’m talking about intentions. The quiet, honest kind.
So here’s mine. And it comes with a confession.
I want to clean up my relationship with the Fierce 5. Again.
Yes … AGAIN. 🔂
If you’re newer here, the Fierce 5 are the five dietary stressors I ask people to pull out first. Dairy, Gluten, Yeast, Sugar, and Alcohol. The usual suspects behind the bloating, the brain fog, the stubborn weight, the dis-ease your body has been whispering (or screaming) about.
And I teach this. I’ve written about it. I coach women through it every single day. 👨🏻🏫
But I’m going to be honest with you.
I have a weakness for all five. Every one. But dairy 🍰 is my biggest problem, and it’s not just a craving. I have a documented, diagnosed dairy sensitivity … in writing … from a lab.
And I STILL love the cheese 🧀… even though it doesn’t love me.
Remember the movie, French Kiss, with Meg Ryan and Kevin Kline. I’ll never forget watching her devour the cheese on the train … enjoying every bite. And, then … they’re getting off the train because she is feeling REALLY ill.
Lactose intolerance! 🤢
I know better than anyone. Dairy sensitivity may not have such a severe reaction (especially when eaten in small amounts … think cheese as a garnish on a salad). It can take up to three days to show up, so you rarely connect the cheese on Monday to the stuffy sinuses on Wednesday. It’s one of the biggest hidden drivers of the chronic congestion and allergies so many women just live with.
So, I get it. Truly.
I released a video about low-fat dairy recently. And I want to say the quiet part out loud before you watch it. 👀
Low-fat doesn’t make it a health food.
It’s still dairy. It’s still on the Fierce 5 list. And “low-fat” usually just means they stripped out the fat and added something else to make up for it. You’re not getting a pass. You’re getting a marketing label. 🏷️
I’m not telling you this to shame you. I reach for the cheese too, remember?
I’m telling you because your BODY keeps the score, whether the carton says low-fat or not. 🐄
So here’s why I’m bringing all of this up now, in July.
You have six months left in this year. That’s not nothing. Plenty of time! ⏳
It takes about 100 days to make a change permanent. Six weeks to build the habit. And as little as 7 to 10 days to feel the difference and know you’re onto something. 🤓
Do the math. Start this week, and you can close out the year as a different version of yourself. One who isn’t negotiating with her own body every afternoon.
So here’s my ask. Don’t try to quit all five at once. That’s how people fail.
Pick ONE. ☝️
And if you want my suggestion, start where I’m starting. Dairy. 🥖Pull it for ten days and watch what your sinuses, your energy, and your waistband do.
Then tell me I’m wrong.
This is the work we do together inside the StressLess Sanctuary. Not white-knuckle willpower. Real recalibration, one honest step at a time, with people who don’t shame you for being human about it.
Because I’m human about it too. 🤝
The second half of the year is yours. Let’s not waste it suppressing symptoms and calling it fine.
Pick your one. Start this week. 💪
Will you? 😘
