We are officially in the second half of 2026. July is here. 🍉

It’s the perfect time to look at those intentions you set back in January. If you find they are buried under a mountain ⛰️ of daily tasks, it is time to get real about what you actually want.

Summer is vacation season. 🏖️ But too often, we turn a week of rest into a highly coordinated, high-stress project.

We pack the schedule. We check our phones. Then we spend the rest of our time off trying to force relaxation, which never works.

Multitasking in a hotel room is still multitasking. You’ve simply changed your location to one with a better view. 👀

Your body needs a genuine change of scenery to take your nervous system offline. Grinding keeps you on alert.

It’s like a high-performance engine. 🚀 You can’t just turn it off mid-race and expect it to cool down instantly.

Adrenaline clears from your bloodstream in about twenty minutes. Cortisol is different. It hangs around for hours, keeping you stuck in survival mode. 🧟‍♂️

Think of your body like a laptop 💻 with fifty open tabs running in the background. Closing the lid doesn’t stop the drain.

Stepping away completely is how you close those open loops. For me, that requires a lengthy getaway. Many years ago, I determined that I had to plan a 3-week trip to force myself to actually hit the stop 🛑 button … rather than just pausing for a few days or a week.

When you truly unplug, your body shifts out of sympathetic overdrive and into rest and repair. It is like giving your liver a break from filtering waste. Adrenaline drowns out your still small voice. 🤕

Find some quiet. 🍃 Leave the phone behind for a few hours and go for a walk. 🚶🏻‍➡️ Notice things.

If you’re using vacation to catch up on sleep, remember that sleep debt cannot be repaid in a single weekend. Your body is hardwired to repair between 11 PM and 5 AM. Traveling is no excuse to ignore this window.

And while you are resting, take a look at your goals. What lacks energy will naturally fall away. 🥀

There is no need to force everything at once. Focus on the low-hanging fruit. 🎯

Give your attention to just one or two intentions for the next six months.

Your future self will thank you for the boundaries you set today.
