I’m watching a woman explain how she freely loves and appreciates everyone …  but herself.

Ouch! But not uncommon.

The response from the facilitator … a bit tongue in cheek … was that many of us carry a feeling that we’re not as lovable as others, because of something that was said to us when we were younger …

… that we keep reactivating.

What caught my breath …

“Don’t let that teacher from elementary school continue to affect you. She was probably in menopause and hated everyone.”

Ouch … again!

Unfortunately, the constant feeling of being “not quite right,” or even unwell as we go through the transition to menopause can leave us feeling irritable.

Some might say we’re a bit bitchy. 🌵

We might even be willing to call it out ourselves. The stereotype is earned, after all.

Fortunately, it doesn’t have to be this way. You can be one of the women that sails into menopause on smooth seas.⛵

How might that happen?

You need to minimize the other stressors that your body has been managing to that point. When we are already forcing our body to operate on fumes, there’s no reserve to draw on.

Menopause does require energy to make adjustments. If you’re managing stress that has become toxic, it’s consuming every ounce of energy your body can produce.

And your body is probably already falling short of the demand … creating unwanted symptoms like …

☑️ weight gain

insomnia

☑️ headaches

… and more.

When symptoms are accumulating, it’s a sign that your body can’t handle the toxic burden it’s under. Symptoms are a warning sign.

Don’t ignore them … or suppress them.

You’re a problem solver. It’s time to get to the bottom of it.🕘

Identify the root cause of what is draining your energy.

There are lots of ways to approach this, but I recommend a Metabolic Energy System Assessment. You can get started here.

Until next week …

Be Well!
