2024:17 Accumulated Deferred Maintenance Caused By … 😫

Waking after a night of sound sleep can feel like a miracle … if you struggle to fall asleep or stay asleep.

9 out of 10 women I work with struggle with intermittent insomnia.

They wouldn’t think of their sleep disturbance as insomnia … but that’s what it is.

This from the Cleveland Clinic …

“Insomnia is when you experience disruptions in how you feel or function because you aren’t sleeping well or sleeping enough. About 10% of the world’s population experience insomnia that qualifies as a medical condition.”

Their statistic is WAY low. In fact, I would say it’s reversed if you’re focused on the female population in midlife and beyond. Only 10% sleep soundly.

And, sleep disturbance is a vicious cycle. It’s caused by stress  … and it causes stress. Remember, the research has shown that 90% of disease is caused by stress. (I believe that statistic is low too!)

If you’ve been around here for a while, you know that I have struggled with intermittent insomnia since my late 20s. I believe it started when I slept with a partner who snored for several years.

Nothing good happens when sleep is disturbed for an extended period of time. I refer to the results as an accumulation of deferred maintenance.

It’s easier to manage when you’re younger. Once you hit midlife … late 30s and beyond, sleep is non-negotiable.

Leading up to the full moon, it’s common for sleep to be disturbed … especially when you have a parasite overgrowth. It’s one of the clear signs that it’s time for a detox targeted to address parasites.

If you’re skeptical, all you have to do is live by the ocean and watch how the moon affects the tides … especially around the full moon. Our body is mostly water. Of course it’s feeling the effects.

It’s helpful to know WHICH parasites are the problem since the protocol for the targeted detox includes herbs that are known to kill a specific critter. A parasite cleanse is pretty intense … so you want to make sure it’s getting the job done.

I was reminded this week that there ARE ways to promote sound sleep making it easier for the body to take care of maintenance … including dealing with a parasite overgrowth.

Here’s my short list that works so well it still surprises me!

  • No food or drink (other than water) after 4PM
  • No devices after 9PM (sunset blue blocker glasses if necessary)
  • In bed by 10PM and asleep by 11PM (read a real printed book if you struggle to fall asleep)
  • Cool the bedroom to 68 degrees (mine is 65)

In my Human Energy System Reboot, we string a week of restful nights together. That’s just one of the 7 Ways we initiate a Reboo. During a Reboot there’s so much “good stuff” going on inside that the results are lasting.

Are YOU ready for a Reboot? You can get started HERE.

Until next week …

Be Well!
