Let the sun shine. Let the sun shine in … the suuuunnnn shine in! (Thank you for putting a smile on my face, 5th Dimension!)
Thursday was the summer solstice … the longest day of the year. My personal favorite!
I have been talking a lot about sleep disturbance lately. This weeks’ Let’s Talk Toxins show was all about solving that problem.
According to Women’s Health (womenshealth.gov) …
Insomnia is one of the most commonly reported sleep problems. One in four women has some insomnia symptoms, such as trouble falling asleep, trouble staying asleep, or both. About one in seven adults has chronic (long-term) insomnia.
I think that statistic is reversed. 1 in 4 women DON’T have sleep problems by the time they reach midlife.
Fortunately, this time of year it’s fairly easy to restore your body’s natural circadian rhythms that regulate sleep. All you need to do is embrace the sun rising and setting.
Let the light shine in your windows. Spend time outdoors.
More natural light. Less artificial light.
= More Melatonin (produced the old fashioned way … naturally)
Focusing on improving sleep is one of the 7 Ways we initiate a Human Energy System Reboot. If you struggle to get reliably sound sleep, then it’s time for a reboot.
