Have you ever returned from a trip and needed a recovery trip? You might have joked that you needed a vacation from your vacation.

I just wrapped up 10 days of travel … several destinations, back-to-back. None of them vacation.

By the time I got home, my to-do list was in overdrive. But so was my nervous system.

Even “productive” stress takes a toll.

It’s cumulative.

And if we don’t pause to interrupt that stress cycle, it starts to show up in sneaky ways … fatigue, tension, overwhelm, digestive upset, brain fog.

That’s why I made a conscious decision to prioritize self-care immediately … even with a zillion things competing for my attention.

Because I’ve learned (the hard way) that when we don’t deal with stress, it creates dis-ease.

And dis-ease, left to fester, can easily escalate to disease.

So this week, I’ve been in full Primary Care Person (PCP) mode, supporting myself with:

  • 🌙 Deep, restorative sleep
  • 💧 Intentional hydration
  • 🥗 Rebuilding meals after intermittent fasting
  • 🚶‍♀️ Gentle, grounding movement (My personal favorite … walking on the beach!)

These are a few of the 7 Ways I assembled in my Human Energy System Reboot Program. It’s a powerful practice that helps your system recover and reset after stress has had its way with you.

Your body is always speaking. Symptoms are signs of stress and the primary language your body uses to communicate. Are you listening?

Of course, I have done more than just take care of myself this week. I’ve been working on the new community I mentioned last week. It’s called the StressLess Sanctuary. We’ll have a (virtual) place to gather where we can explore natural ways to deal with stress before it hijacks our health.

Let me know if you’re in!

For now, if you’ve been suppressing symptoms, it’s time for a reboot.
