A couple of colleagues shared posts this week that for me were βpreaching to the choir.β
I learned this the hard way β¦ so you donβt have to.
Many womenΒ π©Β areΒ still deficientΒ β¦ even though theyβre βdoing everything right.βΒ Taking supplements. Eating fortified foods. Following doctorβs orders.
And yet β¦ they still feel off.
Whatβs the common deficiency?
Vitamin D!
Hereβs what most people donβt realize β¦
Vitamin D isnβt just a nutrient. Itβs a hormone.Β And a fat-soluble one at that, which means your body stores it β¦ like treasureΒ πΒ β¦ in your tissues.
It plays a keyΒ πΒ role in regulating other hormones. So, a deficiency can leave you feeling moody, fatigued, or even anxious.
But hereβs the part that you will rarely hear β¦
Your body is designed to make Vitamin D from the sun.
That doesnβt mean burning your skin or baking for hours. It means gently reintroducing your body to safe, consistent sunlight β¦ especially after months indoors.
I donβt recommend long-term supplement use for most things, and Vitamin D is no exception. Mega-dosing can cause its own imbalances.
The answer isnβt more pills β¦ itβs more presence. More attunement to what your body really needs.
This is howΒ Wellness Warriorsβ’Β rebalance hormones and restore energy β¦Β sustainably and long-term. If youβre not already a member, thereβs no time like the present.
So as we move into summer, hereβs your gentle invitation β¦
Step outside (pun intended)! A morning walk is great for body, mind and soul.
Let the sun kiss your skin β¦ the more skin exposed the better.
Your body knows what to do. And, your hormones will thank you.
