A friend posted on social media this week that she had been traveling and was feeling bloated ⌠even âpuffy.â đŤÂ She had observed that her weight hadnât changed but she had a distinct bulge around the middle.
Belly fat! YUK! đ¤˘
It reminded me about a research article I saw a couple of weeks ago about the effects of bingeing on junk food. đ
I quote: âA 5-day high-caloric diet triggered liver fat accumulation and disrupted brain insulin action in men with a healthy body weight, with effects persisting even after resuming a normal diet.â
In my experience, the results would have been even more dramatic with women. We are more susceptible to fat accumulation.
The only thing Iâve found that deflates the menopausal belly is fasting. And, fortunately, the positive effects persist even after resuming a normal diet.
If you put â2 and 2 together,âyou might call it a fasting binge as opposed to a junk food binge. đď¸
It is similarly effective ⌠with positive effects. â
Iâm due for an extended fast. That means itâs Fast Well Week for those of us who are Wellness Warriorsâ˘.
We use a modified approach that is similar to fast mimicking. Itâs easier and more gentle on the nervous system.
If youâre up to the challenge, you can join me for just $1 if you give the Wellness Warriors⢠membership a try.
