A friend passed away last weekend after a 2 year adventure with cancer. He was the same age as my mom when she experienced the same fate.
So, I have been thinking this week about so many that have had their life interrupted by disease. You probably have a list of people you’ve cared about that this message brings to mind.
A couple of days ago, it was Halloween. More importantly, the days that followed were known as Dia De Muertos … Day of the Dead.
In the latin traditions, the dead are celebrated at this time of the year when it’s believed that the veil between the worlds is thin.
While it felt challenging at first to avoid focusing on the sadness and grief, I eventually found my way to recalling happy memories and times they were full of life.
As humans, it’s better to do that while we’re in the land of the living. But celebration can happen even if there’s more separation.
If you’d like some help creating mindset shifts like I’m describing here, I have several tools that I’ve included in the MOLT Method™ I developed.
Managing our mindset is one of the most important things we can do to reduce stress. And, stress creates 90+% of disease.
So, keeping stress in check allows us to have adventures that are much more fun than cancer.
That’s something we can all agree on. Right??!!
